Sorry, something has gone wrong. As a former Lutheran, I’d just caution you because there are some pretty serious differences between Lutheranism and Mormonism Usually, in a mixed religion household, what ends up happening is that no one is religious. In mine, my dad was Catholic and mom Lutheran. Dad basically became nonreligious, so Mom raised me Lutheran. It worked fine for me but there was always tension. When you have the same views on religion, or are from similar denominations, it makes it pretty easy to convert to one church. But if you’re both strong in your faith especially a faith as demanding as Mormonism there will be nothing but tension unless one converts. Are you willing to become Mormon? Is he willing to become Lutheran?

What an incredible opportunity we as evangelical Christians have been given at this very time in the history of our nation! The Lord has allowed the Mormon religion to come under the national spotlight. This allows us to spend a few weeks or a few months helping people, including Mormons, to understand the true nature of the religion of Joseph Smith as compared to the true nature of the Gospel. It is a rare opportunity that must not be missed! Since souls are at stake, we cannot commit the error of viewing these discussions about Mormonism as a means of political posturing.
The fact that candidate Romney simply ignited the discussion does not mean that Christians should put politics above their mission to “go and make disciples. Souls that will be snatched from darkness and from false religion are a higher priority than trying to advance the cause of a political candidate.
Judaism espouses belief in a monotheistic God, who is creator of the universe and who leads His people, the Jews, by speaking through prophets. His word is revealed in the Hebrew Bible or Old Testament , especially in that part known as the Torah. The Torah also contains, according to rabbinic tradition, a total of biblical commandments, including the Ten Commandments, which are explicated in the Talmud.
Jews believe that the human condition can be improved, that the letter and the spirit of the Torah must be followed, and that a Messiah will eventually bring the world to a state of paradise. Judaism promotes community among all people of Jewish faith, dedication to a synagogue or temple the basic social unit of a group of Jews, led by a rabbi , and the importance of family life.

See this page in: Tongan , Spanish The Mormon church describes itself as the Church of Jesus Christ; why then do most other churches say that Mormonism is not Christian? When Mormon missionaries come to my door, even they sometimes make the point that the Mormon church is different than all other churches that claim to be Christian. I find that I must agree. Even though Mormonism says many of the same things that other churches say, a more detailed discussion usually reveals that the ideas behind many of the words are totally different than orthodox Christianity.
Even though Mormons often display admirable traits in personal and family life, the doctrinal positions of the church itself cannot be harmonized with the teaching of the Bible. God is the Supreme Being of the universe, but he has not always held that position. He gradually attained godhood by living a perfectly righteous life. Then how did He become glorified and exalted and attain His present status of Godhood? In the first place, aeons ago God undoubtedly took advantage of every opportunity to learn the laws of truth and as He became acquainted with each new verity He righteously obeyed it.
From day to day He exerted His will vigorously, and as a result became thoroughly acquainted with the forces lying about Him.

Sorry, something has gone wrong. Here’s probably a prophetic peek of what a mixed marriage might look like: My high school boyfriend’s mother is Mormon, his father formerly possibly nominal Christian if not totally secular, then converted, but not committed to Mormonism. Now his parents are divorced. Just from watching this happen from quite a distance, I would recommend that you not get serious with this young woman. Besides that I would be surprised if she would date you anyway if you are not a Mormon.
In a devout family this is frowned upon. You might want to ask why she is talking to you about religion.

Lindsay I don’t have a story about how I used to be Mormon, it’s more of my brush with Mormonism, I have more of a dilemma that I was looking for advice on. I have a boyfriend that is Mormon. I am not Mormon and have no desire to be. We are very much in love and I know this is the man I would like to spend the rest of my life with. I know he feels the same about me. When we first met I knew nothing about Mormonism.

Carol Lynn Pearson asked this question in a online survey and received more than 8, responses, 51 percent of them from active Mormons. Often the respondents left stories of their own encounters with polygamy in an answer box at the end of the survey. Few of the respondents had actually lived in an earthly polygamous marriage.
I needed to have a witness. I needed to hear another human making those little sounds of sadness, of disbelief. Reading through the stories Pearson has collected is indeed difficult.
From a few followers after the publication of the Book of Mormon, the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints has grown to over 12 million with the latest statistics. Most are raised in the Mormon faith going back for generations, with everybody around them involved in the LDS church. This is the real question, to address when meeting Mormons. Time should not be spent discussing peripheral issues such as polygamy, baptizing the dead and exchanging Bible verses, Mormon missionaries are trained to deal on this level. Missionaries are not trained, to deal with the real issue of Joseph Smith and his prophet status commenting on this point, Reed and Farkas write, Disputing with a well-versed Morman over questions of deity, theology, and the afterlife can be like the archers and spearmen exchanging shots with those on the wall.
